London Sprinkler Tank Repair

This Franklin Hodge sprinkler water tank in London was leaking from all the wall panel joints and bottom corner because the butyl rubber 'bag' liner was holed and letting the water behind it.

This Franklin Hodge 'Firestore' sprinkler tank in the basement of a central London office block was leaking from the bolted sectional panel joints

The rubber 'bag' liner inside the tank had perished with age and was letting the water in behind it.

The butyl liner was floating inside the tank, meaning the whole system would have been useless should there have been a demand on the tank for putting out a fire.

The tank was being constantly topped up at the ball valve because of all the water leaking out of it.

We accessed the tank and cut the butyl rubber liner into manageable sizes and removed them from the tank. We could have installed a new liner but the client wanted a system that we would guarantee of 20 years because of the local environment.

We accessed the tank and removed the rubber liner. Cutting it into manageable pieces that we removed safely from the tank. We could have installed a new rubber bag liner, but our client wanted a watertight system that would last 'forever' and guarantee they didn't have the same problem again.

We sand blast prepped 150mm either side of the panel joints? to key the galv surfaces and applied our fibreglass lining system over the keyed areas to seal all the joints.

We carried out preparartory sandblasting to the steel & concrete surfaces 150mm both sides of the panel joints.

then after priming we applied our watertight fibreglass lining system over the keyed areas to seal all the joints.
