SPRINKLER TANK REPAIR - LONDON

This Franklin Hodge sprinkler water tank in London was leaking from all the wall panel joints and bottom corner because the butyl rubber 'bag' liner was holed and letting the water behind it.

This Franklin Hodge 'Firestore' sprinkler tank, in the basement of a central London hotel was leaking from the bolted sectional panel joints

The butyl 'bag' liner inside the tank had perished with age and was letting water in behind it, causing it to float inside the tank. This would not have been a good scenario had there been a demand on the tank for putting out a fire.

The tank was being constantly topped up at the ball valve because of all the water leaking out of it across the underground car park.

We accessed the tank and cut the butyl rubber liner into manageable sizes and removed them from the tank. We could have installed a new liner but the client wanted a system that we would guarantee of 20 years because of the local environment.

We safely accessed the tank and cut the rubber liner into manageable pieces that we physically removed from within. We could have installed a new rubber bag liner, but our client wanted a watertight system that would last 'forever' and guarantee they didn't have the same problem again.

We sand blast prepped 150mm either side of the panel joints? to key the galv surfaces and applied our fibreglass lining system over the keyed areas to seal all the joints.

We carried out preparartory sandblasting to the steel & concrete surfaces 150mm both sides of the panel joints.

After priming we applied our watertight fibreglass lining system over the keyed areas to seal all the joints.
